Yesterday I heard about the Boston bombing. This naturally came as a shock to me like everyone else. Until I heard a story on a bombing in Iraq. they had 20 deaths and approx 200 people injured compared to Boston's 3 deaths and approx 17 injured. Yesterday Iraq barely made the news whilst Boston was all over it. I guess I can understand why it got more coverage, Boston isn't known for being bombed, but I cant shake the feeling that this isn't fair to the families of the 20 deceased. Are 3 Americans lives worth more than 20 Iraqis? I thought every life was valuable and, with more deaths and many more casualties, I thought people would care more about Iraq. There are probably legitimate reasons behind this but I don't know. Feel free to correct me or give your perspective in the comments but PLEASE give evidence or something is the comments, does anyone else find it annoying when complete ignorant nonsense is thrown around the internet like nobody's business?

I agree with both of you. and I think it could have something to do with the war in Iraq has been going on for ages now so it's 'just another bombing' whereas bombs do not go of in first world countries as much. Their standard of living is higher so people will generally or even unconsciously value their lives more. I do not think this way though. Every life has value.
